Silicone moulds taken from natural rock, glass-fibre reinforced polyester and hand-applied patina: light, realistic rock décors made in our Nice workshop.
A polyester faux rock is a rock décor made of glass-fibre reinforced polyester resin (reinforced polyester, or polyester laminate). Combining the resin with the glass-fibre reinforcement makes it possible to produce decorative elements with a particularly attractive weight-to-strength ratio.
At Poly Rock Concept, each faux rock reproduces the relief of a real rock thanks to silicone moulds taken from natural rock formations, and is then patinated by hand. Reinforced polyester resists chlorine, salt, UV, frost and humidity, and only needs rinsing with water.
Sprayed concrete: concrete requires a large amount of material on a suitable framework; the weight of the structure must be considered from the design stage. It is a rigid material that can crack with frost or support movement, and its look depends on the applicator's skill. Polyester, moulded on real rock, is light and offers consistent realism.
Polystyrene: cheap but fragile: it breaks, scratches, yellows in the sun and does not withstand impacts. It often looks plastic and unconvincing.

Pool: beaches, copings and rock décors around the pool – pool faux rock.
Waterfall: faux rock waterfalls for pools and ponds – decorative pool waterfall.
Concrete wall cladding: turning concrete walls, facades and low walls into a rock face – wall cladding.
Technical cover: hiding pool pumps, filters and plant rooms – pool technical cover.
Garden: rockeries, streams and landscaping – rivers & gardens.
1. Silicone moulds: everything starts with taking impressions of natural rock formations. High-precision silicone moulds capture every relief, crack, vein and roughness.
2. Lamination: each faux rock is hand-laminated in our Nice workshop with polyester resin and glass fibre, then the elements are assembled and the joints worked by hand.
3. Hand-applied patina: each element is tinted with mineral pigments then patinated by hand to reproduce the nuances, shadows in the hollows and colour variations of natural rock.

As every faux rock is custom-made, the price depends on size, relief complexity, finish and installation conditions. See our faux rock price page and our article price of a pool faux rock, or request a free, no-obligation quote.
Glass-fibre reinforced polyester resin, moulded in silicone moulds taken from real rocks, then patinated by hand.
Yes. Reinforced polyester resists chlorine, salt, UV and humidity, making it suitable for pool beaches, waterfalls and technical covers.
Sprayed concrete is heavy and rigid, can crack and its look depends on the applicator. Reinforced polyester is light, moulded on real rock and can be fitted on suitable existing supports.
Simply rinse it with clean water: polyester does not grow moss, does not crack with frost and resists common cleaning products.
